6 Weeks • Lessons arrive via download one week apart

Learn at your own pace:

The content is similar to our most popular course Photography 1. The online version is for those that live farther away or can't fit us in their schedule. The classes are pretty much the same and will arrive a week apart, giving you ample time to review the material and work on the assignment. The assignments should take no more than 10 minutes for each class and we strongly encourage everyone to participate in those, because that will be where you'll learn the most.

Direct support:

If you choose the Direct Support option, you mail the assignments to us along with any questions you  have. We will review your assignments and help you along when you are stuck. This course is also available without the direct Direct Support.

Notes included:

Included with each class are the course notes in PDF form, so you can print them out. By the end of the online course you will have the same content as the folks coming to class.

In our top online photography classes we will demystify each of the systems that make up your camera, e.g: shutter, aperture, ISO, metering and whitebalance. We will explore how each of those work, why they are needed, how they do what they do and why you should care. Then we discover how to use each of them artistically to improve your photography. Classes are very laid back, fun and hands-on. It will help greatly if you have a sense of humor.

What you will learn:

Our Photography 1 top online course consists of 6 lessons that build on each other to help you learn all you need to know about camera systems. Each lesson consist of a video with demonstrations. Because we believe in hands-on learning, you get to try what you learn right away with your camera during the assignment.

No need for you to take notes, we've already done that for you. Included with each lesson are notes pertaining to the lesson. They are in PDF form and you can print them, if you need to.

What makes our approach unique:

We have been teaching photography since 2006. We found that while photography looks very easy, to understand all its elements and gain control is a lot harder than it looks. The fact that camera systems continue to get more complicated isn't really helping here at all. Back when we didn't know any better, we tried to teach all of it in a day.

We since learned that the best way to learn photography seems to be when we break it down and teach it in fun and hands-on sections. One subject, one technical conundrum at a time. When we changed from teaching a day class to spread out over 6 classes, clients started to make better sense of things. The reason we found is, it gave our clients time to absorb, try out and play with what they learned; - Before we introduced the next subject. It was this small change that almost magically increased learning and made all the difference to our clients and it is the very reason we don't dump the whole course on you at once.
